      Blackbaud Welcomes Pete Kight to Board of Directors

      Charleston, S.C. (December 11, 2014)Blackbaud, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLKB), a leading global provider of software and services for the nonprofit, charitable giving and education communities, today announced that Peter (Pete) Kight, founder, and former chairman and CEO of CheckFree, has been elected to its Board of Directors.

      After founding CheckFree in 1981, Mr. Kight served as chief executive officer until its merger with Fiserv, Inc. in 2007. Under his leadership, CheckFree greatly expanded beyond its original core online bill payments business.  At the time of its merger with Fiserv, CheckFree’s annual revenue exceeded $1 billion.

      MicroEdge Announces GIFTS Online 5.2

      Latest update brings enhanced grantee collaboration, new scholarship functionality, improved tracking and reporting, and more

(NASDAQ: BLKB), today announced the release of GIFTS Online® 5.2, a significant update to the leading cloud-based grants management system. With this update, grantmaking organizations gain capacity for more collaborative grantee relationships, an enhanced ability to track and report on their giving, the introduction of new tools for managing scholarships and more.

      GIFTS Online is MicroEdge’s fully hosted, cloud-based grants management system that helps corporate, private, family and other foundations of all types and sizes maximize the impact and efficiency of their grantmaking, with powerful tools for reporting, tracking, collaborating and analyzing the effectiveness of their giving.

      The release of GIFTS Online 5.2 streamlines and improves philanthropic organizations’ ability to effectively collaborate with grantees. System integration with Simplify—a collaborative project between GuideStar and the Technology Affinity Group (TAG)—eliminates the repetitive elements of applying for grants by allowing nonprofits to store standard organizational information in the Guidestar Exchange database and seamlessly pull that information into the grant application forms of GIFTS Online clients. This, along with other enhancements to GIFTS Online’s grantee portal—such as the ability for applicants to reopen and revise already submitted applications—makes it easier than ever for philanthropic organizations to coordinate their entire grant application and grantee relationship management processes online.

      New scholarship functionality allows GIFTS Online users—for the first time—to accept scholarship applications and award scholarships directly from within the system. Bringing this process online and into a single system saves foundations and student applicants alike significant time in not having to manage a paper-based process, while also allowing foundations to more easily identify eligible applicants with GIFTS Online’s built in application eligibility quizzes.

      The Blackbaud Index: Overall Charitable Giving to Nonprofits Increase 0.2%

      The Blackbaud Index today reported that overall charitable giving to nonprofits increased 0.2% and online giving increased 10.6% for the three months ending October 2014 as compared to the same period in 2013.

      As reported in the Charitable Giving Report, overall charitable giving grew 4.9% and online giving grew 13.5% for the full year 2013 compared to the full year 2012. Visit the interactive infographic to view highlights from the report.

      The Blackbaud Index provides the most up-to-date information on charitable giving today. Tracking more than $14 billion in US-based charitable giving, the Index is updated on the first of each month (or the next business day) and is based on a three-month moving average of year-over-year percent change. Featuring overall and online giving, the Index can be viewed by size and subsets of the nonprofit industry via an interactive online chart.
